The Magna is a cool bike... very fast. I didn't realize it was over 100 HP. the 1/4 mile time is outrageous, is that accurate???
My friend had an early '80s magna... I learned to ride on that thing. that fucker flew. My Sportster is quicker off the line, though, but he would pass me no problem after 90mph. My bike climbs slowly after that, but it will get up to about 115 no problem. 120 downhill with the wind. BUt I don't ride liek that anymore. it's fucking stupid... especially in the chicagoland area.
Oh, they do. But this woman's head was so far up her ass, she never would have been able to reach her tazer
My bike is an 83 Magna. It's been extensively detailed. For example, you know how all the magnesium parts on a Honda have a clear coat finish? The older bikes always look like shit because the clear coat gets pitted and discolored, turning black. One of the first things done with my bike was to remove every piece of magnesium (including the rims) and remove that varnish. Then every piece was hand polished and buffed. One small piece would take hours but the results were worth the effort. All the hydraulics were refilled using D.O.T 5 hydraulic fluid, the same as they use on jet fighters. Only Mobile One for my oil changes. The 1/4 mile time was listed as 10.2. I'd never risk my neck doing that but that bike is really quick off the line.
That sounds pretty sweet!!! the Asian bikes from late '70s, early '80s are pretty solid. Great engineering. I know a guy who restores them. It'd be cool to see some pictures of yours with the work you did.

That woman should be run over. I really wish that it was easier to lose your liscence... some people just shouldn't be driving.
I drive the highway 7 days a week to get to school and work and the people who drive on it are miserable. We blame it on the California drivers who keep moving out here. My mother owns a 07 Saturn Sky... bright red convertable and she lets me drive it once in a blue moon. People automatically assumed that I wanted to race every car on the planet, they'd tail me/cut me off etc.... It really pissed me off because it's a nice car, it was a nice day... and I just wanted to cruise!!
Anyways... I'd love to have a scooter, they advertise them on the light rail trains out here, but I probably average about 70 mph in my car
that reminds me of when i woudl drive wth my friend when he had his camaro. People wanted to race him all the time. He hardly ever would, though, cuz it would always end with him being embarrassed. It was only the 6-cylinder, so people blew his doors off all the time.
the Saturn sky is a cool-looking car. I'm a fan of the roadster anyway, but I really like the sky. I'd totally get one, but the wife and I already have a convertible. Potiac, which Im' not a big fan of in general, also has a roadster that I like the looks of. i think it's called teh solstace or something like that. Anyway... I bet you look pretty hot in that car. I bet people aren't trying to race you, they're probably trying to pull up next to you to get a good look at ya. Can't say I blame 'em
They have scooters that are highway worthy and are well capable of doing over 70mph. But those get into a completely difference price range than the one I have.

Haha yeah... I can't afford much of anything right now thanks to going to school and having a crappy paying job. Oh well... I'll just have to win the lottery... or go strip in Vegas....

I am now leaving for vegas on my scooter. I'll probably get there in about 4 weeks.

Here's the scene, I'm sitting in a pool hall watching Indy lose to San Diego. It's about 10:30pm and it seems everyone is pretty mellow. This blond chick comes up to the bar and stands right beside me. I can tell she's pretty drunk but she's not slurring or stumbling around. Just drunk enough to be noticeable and sort of obnoxious. Anyway, she's giving the bartender a load of shit, while at the same time rubbing up against me. Now, I'm pretty good friends with the bartender, so I sort of pull away from her pressing against me and start siding with the bartender. It gets to the point where the bartender(who's maybe 5'3", 120lbs) tells this woman that she has to leave. This really pisses off the woman, who turns to me and starts to try to recruit me into her side of the argument. I'm not gonna side with her drunk ass in a million years and tell her so. She picks up her wine glass and throws the wine at the bartender who's standing maybe two feet in front of her. 3/4 of a glass right in the face. Then she runs out before any of the bouncers can get upstairs. I probably could have caught her if I gave chase, but she had a pretty good head-start down the stairs before I even realized what happened. As pissed as the bartender was, and she was pretty pissed, I told her that if that drunk chick would have splashed wine all over my leather jacket, I would have throttled her. It just as easily could have been me. But the difference would have been I'd have chased that drunken broad till I caught her. Both the bartender and I will certainly recognize her if she ever comes back.
Every year around this time Sydney plays hosts to dozens of whales making their way to Antarctica for the Southern Hemishpere summer. Thousands make the journey by dozens come very close to shore, and some make it all the way into our harbour on their wway down and put on a spectacle for Sydneysiders... and as a city we love them.
It is also about this time the Japanese set sail for Antarctic waters to harpoon and kill these beautiful creatures. Isn't whaling illegal you ask? Why yes it is, but one nation (Japan) do so under the "research" banner. I am not sure what more they could learn from killing thousands of these creatures but they do it every year and they are asking for their allowed quota to be lifted!
Is it a coincidence that whlae meat is considered quite a delicacy in Japan, or am I being cynical?
