Autopsies aren't all they're cracked up to be. CAll your county ME/Coroner, you could probably attend an autopsy. Just be sure it is not of a child. The first autopsy is hard to attend but a child... horrible... sleep disrupting. The youngest I've attended was 17. Fortunately none of the really young child deaths I've investigated required my presence.

Yeah I dont think I could watch a child:( Where I live 99% of the deaths are of natural causes illness and that sort. Very rare to have a murder and accident now and than.

Ok time to start bumping since the boards are so dead and I am afraid to create new posts:P

To update on this, this past wends. was the day I though took no part in it. They did not even have masks I kept a nice distance and the smell was overwhelming I got close enough to the Eyeball to see it had eyelashes and that was enough for me.

I know it is crazy but I have a phobia or I dunno what you want to call it but I cant stand to see small things grouped together in masses best way I can describe it.

Mold, ChickenPox, Stitches bunch of small things in large quanities I just want to get sick. The big ass eyelashes did me in :puke:

I remember dissecting a frog in high school. It took me longer than anybody else because mine was pregnant and I had to scoop all the eggs out before I could do much of anything else.

No offense but that is a weird phobia. So if you saw a crowd of people from an airplane you would be grossed out?
(btw I don't know how you are gonna be a nurse, they have to deal with some GROSS GROSS situations)

I think the most difficult things a nurse would have to do would be to perform a digital extraction on a patient.

Or, give Star Jones a spongebath after her breast enhancement.

Diane,

Just don't get caught drinking and driving in Los Angelos County, California...Part of the mandated punishment is a chance to veiw an autopsy of a victim of an auto accident fatality... :( :( As ghoulish as this sounds, LA has found that this experience has reduced recidivism especially with youthful offenders. The program is funded by an online store called "Skeletons in the Closet" http://lacstores.co.la.ca.us/coroner/

Impolite Things to Say at a Wake (or an autopsy  )
* So, what are you gonna do with his golf clubs?
* Who do I talk to about his bar tab?
* Of course you’ll miss him, he didn’t molest you.
* How long you think until he starts to stink?
* Wow! Other than his wife, is there anyone in this room he didn’t bang?
* Say what you will, Madame Toussot does nice work.
* It’s weird not seeing him drunk.
* I always thought he was gay.
* Isn’t that suit gonna be a little warm for Hell?
* So now that you’re a widow, what do you do? Masturbate?
* I was there when he died. Man, what a baby

I would totally support this idea as I am strongly against drinking and driving.

But as crazy it might sound I rather deal with people than animals.
