Yea, It took me a minute too to think which episode that was from, trying to go through numerous ones in your head can be a rigorous task lol :)

Yes, quite the scam, but then makes me wonder what kind of life you have if you take the time to organize simpsons episodes on that system lol :P

anyway... the dewey decimal guy's story is almost quite interesting. You can read about it at the straight dope if you're a nerd like I am.

I appreciate the Dewey Decimal system as much as the next person, but I wouldn't put it in the same category as "The Theory of Relativity" or Newton inventing calculus. I'd put the brain power needed to figure out how to number books at about the same as it took to number each page. "Let's see, should we do even on one page, then odd on the next, or maybe try two consecutive odd numbers? Hmmm...
