Well I watched Fight Club on the weekend for like the 100th time with someone who had never seen it!!!
That movie has some of the greatest cinematic quotes in my opinion and here are a few favs;
"Marla, the big tourist! She is like the cut on roof of your mouth that would go away if you could just stop tongueing it, but you can't"
"I wanted to put a bullet between the eyes of every panda who wouldn't screw to save it's species"
"I am Jack's broken heart", "I am jack's complete lack of surprise"

It's pretty good. I enjoyed it. It's a different, yet similar, aspect from the movie. the ending is different but intriguing. I think you would like it if you haven't read it. It also gives you a further appreciation for the movie. all in all though, this is one case where I think I like the movie better than the book; however, the book is something that should be read by a Fight Club fan and will be enjoyable. Okay. I'm ramblin' click

"I am Jill's nipple" I dunno about Fight Club but Choke was a really easy read. I too tend to read more non fiction books, dunno why but they appeal to me more. Too great non fiction books I read recently are Adrift, the story of the longest solo survival at sea after a shipwreck. This dude survives on a tiny inflateable raft with minimal supplies and almost no food and drifts halfway across the ocean to land. Awesome story. And Cold Beer and Crocodiles, the story of this American who lived in Australia for 15 years but never really saw the country so one day he decides to ride his bike around the entire country, with almost no cycling experience. Another great read. What does any of this have to do with movies, I have no idea

"I am Jill's nipple" mmmmm Nipple Anwyay, i think you'd like the book. It's a pretty quick read if you just wanna get through it. If you didn't know the story already, it might get a little confusing, but you obviously have a good background in it so you could whip right through it. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Besides, if you posted that in the non-fiction thread, no one would read it.

Well I have watched the movie countless times, probably upwards of 30-40 times so I have a good grasp on the story line... "Hey, you created me. I didn't create some loser alter-ego to make myself feel better. Take some responsibility!"

QUOTE(Bobaloo @ Oct 5 2006, 09:28 AM) I just wrote the word "hustle" in another thread and it reminded me of the movie Kung Fu Hustle. Anyone see that. i actually really liked it. It's supposed to be a bit of a slapstick kinda movie, but I think it's pretty good by not being too corny. Great fight scenes, very cool music, and artsy enought without being nauseating. I shall check it out! QUOTE(bondiguy @ Oct 5 2006, 11:53 PM) Second book sounds rather interesting! It is! It's not really full of any over the top drama. Just a good book to sit down and read a chapter or two of everyday. It's pretty crazy when he's cycling through some pretty harsh desert terrain where if his bike broke down and he couldn't fix it, he would be really screwed. He had to carry upwards of 24 liters of water with him between towns or outposts and at times that was barely enough. And he met up with some dudes in the outback hunting and they invited him to go along for a couple weeks to drink beer and shoot things. Great book, I might read it again. I think it's something a lot of people dream of doing, just picking up and leaving, no job, no superficial worries, just ride your bike from place to place and just take it all in. K, now I've REALLY gone off the movie topic.
