QUOTE(evade20 @ Oct 6 2006, 08:42 PM) Google is taking over the world or at least the net... as evidenced by this New York Times Article. Google is in serious talks to acquire YouTube, the wildly successful online video-sharing Web site, for $1.6 billion in cash and stock, people involved in the negotiations said today. Now if they will only start Bluetube for all of us that would like to see some nudity in our vids. That is small change, apparently the creators of google are together worth more than 30 billion dolars

I don't usually buy into a lot of conspiracy theories because a lot of the stuff you read is either conspiracy nuts who only tell you half the story, or skeptics who only tell you half the story. But I read a book called The Rough Guide to Conspiracy Theories . It's a level headed look at dozens of conspiracy theories throughout recorded history. The authors always remain unbiased and never decide one way or the other with a few exceptions that were found to be true(some of the Castro stuff etc.) They present the info and let you decide or research further. Many are laughable, some are outlandish, and some are downright scary in their implications. In the end many people are gonna believe what they want to believe regardless of a silly thing called facts and evidence, but this book is worth a read. Also, I just watched this. Still don't know what to think of the whole 911 fiasco, but this is certainly compelling stuff. That is all.

QUOTE(Gnappster @ Oct 18 2006, 06:42 PM) of course! the saucer people who are in cahoots with the RAND corporation. that's a great word-- cahoots. if I join another message board, or if I need another alias here, it will be cahoots. I use the term all the time. Well, maybe not ALL the time, but quite a bit. Never thought of using it as a logon name, though. back in the day of BBSs, there was this one BBS I would hang out at where they had a BBS-wide game called LORD (legend of the red dragon). It was a goofy text-based RPG, but it was fun enough. YOu could only do so much per day so it didn't consume you like other RPGs can. Anyway... my logon name there was "You." It was funny cuz the game would update what was going on and it would say, "you won the battle," or "you acquired 50 gems," or whatever. what was funnier was when I was offline and someone would pick a fight with me, it would say you won the battle or whatever and it'd be really confusing. isn't that a great story?

Shouldn't this be in the "Sex Stories" thread? I know I got all excited reading it. Except for no tits, no ass and no plot, it's the perfect RMM post.

Yesterday was a classic: "I have nothing constructive to add to this thread." Why type all that when you can pull an "evade" and just post a ? pointless busy work? QUOTE(evade20 @ Oct 18 2006, 07:32 PM) actually you could go through rmm and find more bondi posts about any subject than anyone else has ever posted. yes I know, pot/kettle

One of my better lines haha True, but in 99% of cases I am just taking the piss out of you yeah, check it out, guarantee you'll like it. do you mean you DON'T believe the 911 conspiracy theories, or you don't believe what the gov't tels you. There is some good stuff in the book on it. I think a lot of 911 conspiracy theories are heavily biased but the video I linked to above is pretty impartial(I think anyway). The guy is just addressing the collapse of the buildings and how improbable it was. I haven't seen or read as compelling of evidence arguing the opposite, but I'm not a structural engineer either so who knows.

The video eveidence is all they rely on and it is sketchy at best. Words like improbable prove my theory. Was it probable that anyone ever thought that passenger jets would fly at speed into these buildings when they built them? I am sure the US gov't is a corrupt organisation but no one is that irresponsible

QUOTE(Gnappster @ Oct 19 2006, 06:33 PM) well you'd be surprised how irresponsible the US(and other countries') governments are. There is stuff in the book, not heresay but a lot of declassified info that you'll be shocked to find out. I can't remember a lot of it, but for instance, nazi chemical and bio warfare scientists were kept from prosecution after the war and employed by the US government's own chemical warfare departments. There's plenty more irrefutable (more or less) info that will make anything seem possible. I'm not saying the government pulled off 911 but I don't think they did much to stop it. Now read the damn book. (and you're right, not a guarantee ) Agreed! I love a good Con Theory but too many times wacko's get a hold of them and turn what is feasible into complete and utter bullshit

I can't believe it is approaching a year since the last post in this topic! We have had a bunch of new members since then so I wanted to revive it to hear some theories from the newer members.
Here's another to kick it off:
At the moment Sydney is in the gripe of the epidemic that is Equine Influenza, or in lamen's terms... Horse Flu. Doesn't sound like that big of a deal but it is crippling the racing industry heading into the busiest time of the year for them, Springtime.
Anyway the epicentre of the outbreak is at Randwick Racecourse, which coincidentally is the proposed sight for the Christian World Youth Day next year. The racing industry does not want the site to be used for the festival as it will call to a halt racing and it has been a big argument for a few months here. As a conspiracy theory I "believe" the Catholic Church has infected the horses as a payback to the AJC (owners of the racecourse) for not allowing them to use their site.
WOW you read all that?
