QUOTE(ontippytoes @ Nov 25 2005, 09:09 PM) Or maybe hott helped the clerk with his/her break. I know I'd offer to help a guy if he had a stiffie. I have a question that is semi-related to this thread: Have any females ever been approached by a man in a store asking advice on sizing for his wife/girlfriend. Is that strange for a guy to do when he is shopping for his beloved?

QUOTE(ontippytoes @ Nov 25 2005, 09:17 PM) I have been approached and I wasn't sure if the guy was for real or was trying to pick me up. I've often wanted to approach guys when shopping for my hubby but haven't because I was afraid they'd think I was picking up on them. I think it's a perfectly acceptable thing to do. Cool, thanks I was in Old Navy today and unsure of my guesstimation on the size shirt I had picked up and wanted so badly to ask one of the saleswomen, but turned completely chicken because I didn't know how to phrase my question. Oh, the joys of shopping...

Oh, the joys of shopping... lol Well, if it's a saleswoman, just ask! Explain to her, in your lease slimy tone, lol, what you need. Sales people GENERALLY are happy to help.

Oh, the joys of shopping... Well, asking the saleswoman is completely different than approaching a strange woman. She gets paid to make sure you have the help you need. She might also be on commission and want you to ask her, so she can make the sale. Then, if you buy it, hold on to the receipt, because there's a good chance it's going to be exchanged anyway. That's why the malls are packed after Christmas.

QUOTE(ontippytoes @ Nov 25 2005, 09:40 PM) Yeah, as much as one can while working. I only saw downtown and Marietta. Well, next time I hope you have enough time to get to the highlands, east atlanta and little 5 points. And for "authentic" atlanta cuisine, try Mary Mac's Tea Room.

southern cooking. As a native, i've come to know it as fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, turkey, collards, squash, etc... If you have high blood pressure or cholesterol, you might not thrive on this diet ;-)

QUOTE(mountainlust @ Nov 25 2005, 06:45 PM) Black Friday = the first day of holiday shopping season (correct?) Yea. The-day-after-Thanksgiving-sales are supposed to jumpstart the holiday shopping season and get businesses out of the red and into the black. But a lot of people take "black" to mean people fighting over stuff, long lines, and no parking.

Nice guys finish last.
